Move your career forward
Imagine going to work full of anticipation, looking forward to being inspired, growing, and progressing. Each day you’re happy with your contribution and excited to return home to spend time with your friends and family.
That’s what a rewarding career looks like.
You aren’t there, though. You’ve followed the advice, taken courses, learned new skills, and completed annual objectives. It hasn’t worked.
You’ve progressed, but you’re still unfulfilled and discontent. You wonder how long you can keep it up.
My Experience
When I led HR, I worked with employees at all levels. All of them wanted their role to be more fulfilling and rewarding.
However, regardless of the position, they all looked to someone else to solve the problem.
Employees want managers to guide them. But managers haven’t received the support and guidance they need to do this effectively.
So, they look to HR for a solution. But HR doesn’t know the employees. So, they do a survey or take a poll and try to get some information for the managers.
Managers look at the results and aren’t sure how to interpret them. So, they turn to their employees and ask, “Is this what you want?”
It isn’t. Employees aren’t sure what they want or what options are available. So, they ask their managers for some support. And around we go.
