As an entrepreneur we poor this kind of energy into work in micro cycles of 1-2 week sprints often with no end in site, when I’m frustrated it’s this same sort of feeling of exhaustion and lack of accomplishment. I’m fortunate to have a father figure who helps me run through everything that I’ve done, but I’ve tried to internalize this a bit as well by journaling quarterly or at least biannually and then reviewing the journal to see where I’m at. Because I’m just a few page turns away from 2015, it’s a really positive experience to see how the incremental improvements have stacked up over the years and I’m motivated to keep going.
